About Jerrold:

I am a Cleveland, Ohio-based, director, actor, and educator, with decades of experience in the theater and the classroom.  I am currently Katharine Bakeless Nason Professor of Theater and Drama, and chair of the Department of Theater, at Case Western Reserve University.  I also serve as producing director of department productions at the Maltz Performing Arts Center (MPAC).

My experience as a director ranges from the classics to musicals and everything in between.  I am an actor-centered, text-based director, with a collaborative yet certain leadership style.

"I will tell you a secret. <whisper>I did not want to see this show</whisper>. Life's crazy right now: writing deadlines, two wee kids, a this-old-house-style renovation project. The last production I saw of Twelfth Night was a fool's show. Lotsa gags. Lotsa gas. Lotsa nothin'. Fortunately, the same cannot be said of Jerrold Scott's interpretation that is currently running at The Distracted Globe. It's as thoughtful as it is beautiful--without skimping on the laughs." --Ubertati Blog Review, July 2012

Sharp Direction, Clever Acting Make 'The Philadelphia Story' a Hit: Review  "...happily this upper crust doesn't turn soggy under the sharp direction of Jerrold Scott (who also doubles amusingly as Uncle Willie)...The cast...handles this precious wordplay well."--Christine Howey, "The Cleveland Scene", February 2015
